With hot weather expected this weekend, we want to make sure everyone stays safe and informed during the soccer tournament.
We are taking the following steps on-site:
Extra water stations will be available at the fields
Canopies will be set up to provide shaded areas for players
We also want to make sure everyone is aware of the signs of heat illness. Please review the graphic below for a clear guide to identifying heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
🔍 Coaches: What to Watch For
Coaches, please keep a close eye on your players throughout the day. Early intervention can make a big difference. Be alert for:
Dizziness or unusual fatigue
Headaches or confusion
Nausea or vomiting
Hot, flushed skin
Players who stop sweating or seem unable to cool down
If you suspect heat stroke (confusion, high body temp, loss of consciousness):
Call 911 immediately
Move the player to a cool, shaded area
Begin cooling (cold towels, ice packs, water spray) while waiting for emergency services
💡 Tips for Families
Make sure your player arrives well-hydrated and continues drinking water regularly
Bring extra water bottles, snacks, and portable shade if you have it
Encourage rest between games in shaded areas
We’ll be monitoring conditions closely, and we appreciate your help keeping all players safe. Thank you for being part of the POSA community!
